There was a time where your options for a cup of coffee were pretty limited in Evansville, but in recent years Coffee shops have been showing up all over. Here’s a list of the best shops around. If I missed someone you think should be included, let us know in the comments!
Located in Eastland Mall, you can stop by this shop while you shop. They offer a great variety of flavored coffees and gift ideas for that coffee lover in your life.
2. Black Lodge
Black Lodge has a one-of-a-kind experience. A visit to New Harmony would not be complete without dropping in to get a specialty drink. Roasted in-house, each drink truly is made just for you.
3. Cycling Solutions
This Newburgh bike shop has opened a coffee shop in its retail space. Serving Evansville Coffee Company’s coffees, you know you’re getting some freshly roasted brews. If you stop in to grab a cup, make sure to check out their bike selection.
4. The Daily Grind
Right across from the Civic Center, take a break from your daily grind. Drop to in enjoy a cup of coffee or something from their lunch or breakfast menu. Their wraps are pretty killer!!
5. Donut Bank
It’s difficult to think coffee and not think about Donut Bank. Multiple locations, hot coffee, and one of the best doughnut offerings around… you just can’t go wrong. Grab a doughnut and cup of coffee; it’s the best way to start your day.
Making a recent return to Evansville, Dunkin’ Donuts is serving up coffee and doughnuts from its First Avenue Location. Keep an eye out for a second Dunkin’ location on North Green River.
7. Honey Moon Coffee Co.
You say curated coffee experience, I say Honey Moon. Located just across form the University of Evansville, you can snag a drink like the Purple Ace Latte. Founded on a love for community, you’ll feel right at home in Honey Moon.
8. Honey Moon Plus
This is Honey Moon’s satellite location in the Lobby of Old National Bank downtown. This is truly an extension of the space Honey Moon is known for creating. Community and a curated cup of coffee. Also offering smoothies!
9. Krispy Kreme
Home of the hot fresh doughnut. There is almost nothing better than a melt-in-your-mouth just-off-the-line doughnut and a cup of coffee. Eat ‘em by the dozen. We won’t tell.
Pangea is known for providing a quality dining experience. That would hardly be complete without an after dinner espresso. Our personal favorite, an Affogato – espresso poured over gelato. It’s exactly as good as it sounds.
11. Parlor Doughnuts
Doughnuts, doughnuts, doughnuts. These guys are killing it with their doughnut game. Maple Bacon, Dreamsicle, French Toast… pair it with a Proper cup of coffee, you may need to take a moment. No really. Take your time.
12. Penny Lane
These guys are the veterans of the Evansville coffee scene. They have created an environment that is everything a coffee shop vibe should be. A great place to sit down, get a little work done, meet a few friends, treat yo’ self.
13. Planter’s Cafe and Coffee Bar
Transplanted from Henderson, Planters has made Burkhardt their home. With great food options and a drive thru, don’t let a busy day keep you from good coffee! Stop by, snag a cup of coffee, enjoy a little lunch.
14. Proper Coffee Roasters
Tucked away on North Green River, Proper is certainly a gem worth finding. They roast their own coffee weekly. The atmosphere here is like Nashville‘s Barista Parlor meets west coast coffeehouse. Want a drink that’ll rock your socks? Breve Cortado. This drink shows off everything you need to know. The roast profile, the espresso extraction, and the barista’s skill with latte art.
15. The Refinery
Birthed out of the community in Historic Downtown Newburgh, The Refinery creates the perfect spot to slow down and enjoy what’s around you. Alongside their exceptional coffee (roasted by Proper) you would be hard-pressed to find a better tea selection. Did I mention they have Bliss ice cream? They have Bliss ice cream…
16. River City Coffee +Goods
The heart on Main Street, River City gives something truly wonderful back to the community. They provide a retail space for local makers to sell their wares. Stationary, soap, leather goods, olive oil, shirts, and decor there is a little something for everyone. Come here, get a cup of coffee, and see all they bring to the table.
17. River Kitty Cat Cafe
This is one of two shops on this list to offer a beer and wine menu (Pangea is the other). It is date night material. Now let’s talk about the Kitties… The is a partnership between RKC and Vanderburgh Humane Society. All of the cats here are up for adoption. For the non-cat lover, don’t let that keep you away. The cats are safely quarantined into a a space all their own. You can choose if you would like to sit in a cuddling or no cuddling zone.
18. Solid Grounds
This is my favorite getaway space of a coffee shop. It feels like a halfway between sitting in someone’s living room and sitting in a bookstore. This shop is tucked away in Christian Fellowship Church’s campus. The staff here are exceptionally kind and welcoming.
19. White Swan Coffee Lab
A wonderful addition to Franklin Street. If anyone deserves the title of coffee lab it’s White Swan. Know that every ingredient in every drink has been weighed, has been measured, and we have been found wanting more. The chemistry of science and art here create some truly excellent drinks.
20. Joe Brewski
You can catch their cold brew in the community and at upcoming festivals. “You don’t know Joe until you know Joe.”
