WIRED’s Coffee & Classics Series is a monthly concert series featuring local musicians performing traditional and non-traditional chamber music. This month, Leanne Hampton and Paulo Oliveira will present a diverse program of music from the Americas featuring works by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Pat Metheny, George Rochberg, Miles Davis, Djavan, and more.
Dr. Paulo Oliveira is an active soloist, chamber musician, arranger, and educator who is equally at ease in the classical, jazz, and commercial worlds. Paulo has performed and taught in South America, Europe, and across the United States in a wide variety of settings. In 2017, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Guitar at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Paulo has won awards in guitar competitions both in Brazil and the United States, including the Villa-Lobos Conservatory, Bruce Ekstrand Memorial, Emerging Artists-Missouri, Souza Lima Conservatory, and Middle Tennessee State University.
Flutist Dr. Leanne Hampton enjoys an exciting and versatile career as an orchestral performer, chamber musician, soloist, and teacher. She is the Consortium Instructor of Flute at the University of Evansville as well as Principal Flute for the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra.
