The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra will perform its final Pops concert of the season with music of Indiana Music Legends on Sunday, May 19 at 4 p.m. at the Victory Theatre. Featured guest artists are The Browne Sisters and Monte Skelton on saxophone.
The first half of the concert will feature Cole Porter best loved songs & Hoagy Carmichael: An American Treasure. The first half will end with Evansville composer, John Streetman’s “Prop Me Up, O Lord” performed by Evansville natives, The Browne Sisters.
The second half of the Indiana Music Legends concert brings many of your favorite Michael Jackson songs with accompaniment by Monte Skelton and John Mellencamp’s “R.O.C. K. in the U.S.A.” Bruno Mars and Evansville’s Philip Lawrence Jr.’s huge hit “Billionaire” will be included plus “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Freddie Mercury as a tribute to two Indiana stars, Adam Lambert, a native of Indianapolis, touring with Queen & Bohemian Rhapsody and Rami Malek, U of E graduate and “Bohemian Rhapsody” 2019 Academy Actor Award winner. The Browne Sisters will complete the program with their moving rendition of “God Bless the USA” and “God Bless America.”
