Phonetics professor Henry Higgins takes on a bet that he can transform Eliza Doolittle, a low class flower girl, into a duchess within six months. After months of intensive language and mannerism training, he succeeds, but unknown to him, Eliza has undergone internal changes as well. At the end of the play, much to Henry’s surprise, Eliza prepares to take her leave from him, and he is forced to accept that his “project” has a mind of her own.
“Pygmalion” is the 2018-2019 season’s Repertory Project and is a USI/New Harmony Theatre production.
