What: Very simply, Evansville Restaurant Week is a celebration of local Restaurants and Chefs. It is modeled after events in larger cities, some of which have been held since the early 1990’s. (New York was the first).
Why: The purpose of Restaurant Week is to get foodies and the general public to dine out, and to champion and support locally owned small businesses! We want you to try new foods, new restaurants and new experiences! Visit a restaurant you have never been to, try a dish you have never tried – step outside of your comfort zone and enjoy all of the great culinary experiences our local restaurants offer!
We also want to support and champion the Sponsors of Evansville Restaurant Week, as they support the local restaurants and foodies! We have worked very hard to make sure that our Sponsors complement and support the food industry, or that they make your dining experience safer and more enjoyable. Beer, wine and spirits go hand-in-hand with great food! A Livery service after enjoying drinks with dinner all make your dining experience that much better and safer! The public being able to shop at a local gourmet kitchen store and take cooking classes may help them recreate their favorite dishes at home! A beer that used to be brewed in Evansville gives the event some nostalgia and ties the city together. A local online resource of 14,400+ foodies can help you decide where to dine out, as well as to stay up to date on the latest restaurant news, openings and closings.
How for the restaurants: The participating restaurants will each have their own special prix-fixed menu, allowing their customers to choose between various menu items at a fixed price for the entire meal. These restaurants will still offer their regular menus during the week, but this special menu will give them a chance to showcase the ability of their kitchen staff, to use ingredients and offer dishes not normally on their menus, and to give the public a chance to enjoy restaurants they may not normally visit at a great value!
** Keep in mind that not all Evansville restaurants are participating in the weeklong event. Only those listed on this site are participating restaurants, and there are no chain restaurants participating. ALL of the restaurants you will have the opportunity to visit are locally owned. **
Evansville Restaurant Week is brought to you and hosted by Joe Notter and Randall Notter with EvansvilleEvents.com, and Brian Buxton, local dining journalist and advocate.
