Explore the history, culture and experiences of people of the African Diaspora through the vibrant storytelling of Richard Ashby, Jr.

Richard Ashby, Jr. is an award-winning, nationally recognized public librarian and storyteller. He performed and shared stories of the African American experience across the Northeast, South and Midwest. Mr. Ashby’s most notable performance is the reenactment of Henry Box Brown, the man enslaved in Virginia who mailed himself to freedom in Philadelphia.
