Newburgh, IN – On Monday, June 25th, you can catch the initial tee off of United Leasing Championship Golf Tournament at the Victoria National Golf Club located at 3344 Indiana 261, Newburgh, Indiana. The top 25 players on the Nationwide Tour earn PGA TOUR cards, which makes the Nationwide Tour the official proving grounds for future PGA TOUR champions. The tour is scheduled for four rounds, and is due to wrap up on July 1st.
All four rounds of the United Leasing Championship will air on the Golf Channel. The tournament will be distributed in the United States and 176 other countries and territories, including Japan, Korea and parts of Latin America and Europe. Coverage will air locally on Thursday and Friday from 5:30 – 7:30 pm; Saturday from 5:30 – 8:30 pm; and Sunday from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. (Times are subject to change.)
The Nationwide Tour is in its 22nd Season. It holds more than 25 events throughout the world each year, and is part of the PGA TOUR family. Nationwide Tour alumni have won 14 major championships and more than 322 PGA TOUR events. Some of the world’s best players have sharpened their skills on the Nationwide Tour: Jim Furyk, Ernie Els, David Toms, Tom Lehman, and Zach Johnson. In fact, 74% of the current players on the PGA TOUR are Nationwide Alumni.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - United Leasing Championship Golf Tournament (an official event of the PGA) is now accepting applications for volunteers. All volunteers are asked to register through the website at: www.unitedleasingchampionship.com.
Volunteers must be over 18 years old and are needed for a variety of positions and shifts, before, during and after the tournament. Positions include: Admissions, Course Construction, Course Ecology, Golf Channel, Media Center Office, Hospitality, Pro-Am, Transportation, Scoring and other general volunteers. Volunteers do not have to have previous tournament experience to work during the event.
